Honey glazed chicken thighs in the air fryer
🧂 Ingredients:
4 bone-in or bone-in chicken thighs (with skin for more crunchiness)
1 tablespoon of olive oil
½ teaspoon of salt
½ teaspoon of black pepper
1 teaspoon of garlic powder
½ teaspoon of paprika
¼ teaspoon of cayenne pepper (optional for spicy)
For the honey icing:
2 tablespoons of honey
1 tablespoon of soy sauce
1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard (or yellow mustard)
1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar (optional for the spicy)
🔥 Instructions:
Preheat the air fryer
Preheat to 190 °C for about 3 minutes.
Prepare the chicken
Blot the chicken thighs with paper towels.
Drizzle with a drizzle of olive oil, then rub with salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika and cayenne pepper.
Fried chicken in the open air
Place the chicken legs in the basket, skin down (without overloading them).
Fry in the open air at 190 °C (375 °F) for 12 minutes.
Turn over and continue cooking for 10 to 12 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 74 °C (165 °F) and the skin is crispy.
Prepare the honey glaze
While the chicken is cooking, whisk the honey, soy sauce, mustard and vinegar in a small bowl.
Heat in the microwave for 15 to 20 seconds or heat on the stove to combine the flavors.
Icing and finishing
Brush the chicken with the honey glaze for the last 3 minutes of cooking in the open air to let it caramelize slightly.
For an even sweeter and sticky flavor, brush it once more after cooking.
To serve
Let stand for 2 to 3 minutes.
Serve on a bed of fresh green vegetables, with an additional drizzle of icing.
✨ Advice:
Use the thighs with the skin for a golden and crispy breading.
For a thicker sauce, simmer for a minute or two until it reduces slightly.
To be enjoyed with roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes or a fresh salad.
